Nut and Washer Schedule

The Nut and Washer Schedule sets the available grades for nuts and washers throughout SDS2.

Nuts

  • Line 1 under this tab sets the default Nut Grade that is selected for a particular definition on Bolt Specifications.
  • Any grade entered here can be selected as the Nut Grade for a particular definition on Bolt Specifications. Grades can also be selected for Primary nut grade or Secondary nut grade on the Bolt Edit window.
  • Supported nut types are heavy hex, heavy square and jam. Heavy hex nuts are used by default for connections.

  • Washer types are assigned to bolt types in Washer Settings. The first grade that you enter for a washer of a particular type (on this window, not in Washer Settings) is the grade that is assigned when connections are designed and bolts are added through matching holes. It is also the grade that is applied for a particular bolt type when you Add Bolts or Add Bolts to Single Ply or Add Point to Point.
  • For example, if the Washer Settings window designates that Flat washers be used for a particular bolt type and the first material that is listed on this window for Flat washers is F436, then that F436 is the material of that washer.
  • Any material that has been entered for a selected type (Hardened or Bevel or Load or etc.) can be selected on the list box ( ) for a washer of that Grade on the Bolt Edit window. This allows you to use washers of the same type, but different grades, in the same Job.

  • You can Copy ( ) the settings on this screen , then Paste ( ) those settings to a different screen of the same type.
  • Save ( ) saves a file to a global folder ( ) that is used by your current version of SDS2. Give the file a name that will help other users identify its purpose. Load ( ) replaces the settings on this screen with the settings that are stored in the file that you select.
  • When editing multiple screens at the same time, Paste and Load replace mixed entries to a single field with a single entry. Copy and Save ignore fields with mixed entries, treating them as if they have no entry or do not exist.

Cancel (or the Esc key) closes this screen without saving any changes.

Reset undoes all changes made to this screen since you first opened it. The screen remains open.
